Resolutions for 2017
I’m starting off my new year with the obligatory post about my goals for 2017. I have the “normal” goals of losing weight, getting healthy and learning a new skill. However, as I sat back and thought about what I needed to really improve upon this year I just kept coming back to one word: simple.
Of course, I’ve been trying to simplify my life for many years. The harder I try, to more complex things kept getting. I started to work from home, homeschool my kids and foster dogs. There are some days I wake up and wonder how the heck I got myself into this mess. The daily chaos does make me happy, but I need to get order back into my life. There are days I can’t tell what’s coming or going.
My main goal this year is to simplify. I’m not just talking about stuff. I mean to simplify my mind and my daily activity. By the end of the day, I don’t want my mind going through a laundry list of things to do for the next day or recalling all the stuff I forgot to do. How am I going to do this? I don’t know yet. I’m tackling my to-do list one day at a time. I’ll start with a plain cup of tea and a plain notebook, I’ll see what tomorrow brings.
Happy New Year!
